PZArts CIC Statement
PZArts CIC Clarification to Supporters
PZArts CIC is the not-for-profit organisation established specifically to acquire and secure the former Penzance School of Art, Library and Science School buildings for community benefit.
PZArts CIC recognise that a separate bid for the buildings, by another group, may have caused confusion within the community.
PZArts CIC remains fully committed to acquiring the site and continues to make positive progress towards that goal.
PZArts CIC has the support of the Architectural Heritage Fund, and we are currently finalising a feasibility study to inform the next stage of the project. We are working within a formal process and framework, and we will provide regular updates on progress. We are deeply grateful for the financial support received from both the Fund and the wider community, whose contributions have made this important work possible.
PZArts CIC is about to announce an exciting programme of awareness-raising and fundraising initiatives. However, we would like to make it clear that PZArts CIC is not seeking donations of artwork from artists for auction or fundraising purposes at this time.
PZArts CIC is committed to building a sustainable and mutually beneficial relationship with artists and recognise that creative practitioners are too often asked to donate their work without fair return. While alternative fundraising approaches may be considered in the future, once the buildings are secured, any current requests for artwork donations are NOT connected with PZArts CIC and relate to the rival bid.
To minimise further confusion, we are working to establish clear distinctions between the organisations involved and their respective proposals.
We thank our supporters for their continued encouragement and support of the PZArts CIC bid.
